TRE® Classes and Group Shakes
When #metoo is #toomuch: TRE® for trauma support and self-care
The recent outpouring of allegations of sexual harassment and sexual assault in Hollywood, the media, and government has been overwhelming. While the #MeToo campaign was intended to break the silence around sexual assault and harassment, for some of us it’s been #TooMuch.
Whether it triggers memories of your own experience, makes you realize that someone you love has been hurt in the past, or just makes the state of the world look a little worse than you realized (and you already thought it was pretty bad), the constant barrage on facebook, twitter, and the news is sapping your resilience and impacting your physical and emotional health. Where can you get the support to regain your ground, balance your nervous system, and find the resilience to keep going in these truly painful times?
Join me for a 90 minute small group introductory TRE® workshop during which I will:
- provide a brief introduction to TRE®--what it is and why it works
- walk you step-by-step through the simple exercises that invite the body’s natural tremoring mechanism to emerge
- support you while you rest comfortably on a yoga mat and “shake out” your long held trauma and tension, bringing relief to your nervous system
Each group will have a maximum of five participants. This allows for individual attention and support for each participant while enabling a low-cost introduction to the technique. The exercises can be modified to make the technique accessible to a wide-range of bodies.
TRE® is designed to be a self-help tool that, once learned, can be used independently as needed throughout one’s life, thereby continuously supporting and promoting personal health and wellness. It’s a short-term financial investment in a long-term self-care tool so you can experience ongoing support even when time and money don’t allow for one-on-one trauma interventions.
Multiple dates available:
- November 15, 12pm-1:30pm, Room B, Women's Building, 3543 18th Street, San Francisco.
- November 22, 12pm-1:30pm, Room B, Women's Building, 3543 18th Street, San Francisco.
Cost for each workshop is $35 per person. This limited-time intro class is offered at a significantly reduced rate to offer support to a broader community of folks impacted by current events. Advanced ticket purchase is required to ensure small group size. Click here to reserve your spot.
Wear loose, comfortable clothing that you can move around in. Bring your own yoga mat if you have one! I will provide a few extra for those who do not. Please support me in making this event scent-free by refraining from wearing any scented products to the class. Thank you!
